Smart Wifi Installation

Nagbayad na kami sa smart wireless center para makapag pakabit ng smart wifi, within 3 days daw eh pupunta sila sa bahay... After 1 week dumating na yung magkakabit, nakasakay sa scooter. ANO!? SCOOTER! amf! Nasan ladder nyo? Nasa bulsa nyo? Pambihira! Eh wala kaming lader sa bahay, e di nag-ala spider man sila sa pag akyat sa matarik na bubong namin para maitayo yung antena. Pagkatapos nun, sinunod naman nilang i-configure yung computer ko para maka-connect sa internet... After 1 hour... ayaw pa din, paikot ikot na ata yung ginagawa nila eh. Kaya ito na lang ginawa nila noong hindi nila mapagana...

1. Refresh... refresh, refresh, refresh, change video settings...

Anong ginagawa mo!?

2. "Sir, disable po natin yung mga anti-virus at firewall nyo para mapagana yung net"

Disable din kita!

3. "Ilan video memory ng pc nyo sir?"

Pinaka nakakainis... Noong wala na talaga sila magawa... at naubos na ang options nila

amf! format ko mukha mo eh...

E di ayun sumuko na at umuwi na sila kasi 10pm na ng gabi at sabi pa e magpapadala na lng daw kinabuksan ng mas henyo sa computer.... Pero di na ako umasa na may dadating kinabukasan, himala yon! Lumipas na ang isang linggo at nagsilbing design na lang sa bubong ng bahay namin yung canopy nila.

Ayun sa wakas may dumating din na mag-aayos ng internet. Wow! may dalang truck! Hanep! Asenso! haha! E di ayun na inayos na nila, wala pa atang 30 mins tapos na. Sabi sa akin noong technical personnel na pumunta, "Sir, mali po yung ip address na nilagay nila kaya ayaw gumana, mali yung computation. Ano po itsura nung pumunta?" Ngeeee! Yari kaa! Aahahahaha!

Reality

Morning December 30, 2005 umalis kami para magliwaliw bago mag new year pero bago kami nakatuloy may inayos muna ang tatay ko at ate ko kasi may tumirik na van sa expressway so automatically towed ung van, kaya pinuntahan muna namin yun sa impounding area sa express way, after maayos lahat ng bagay, nakita ko yung pahinante/helper ng van kausap na tatay ko, suot nya punit punit at madumi na damit tpos gutom na gutom na. Maaawa ka talaga kasi sabi ng ate ko wala daw food allowance na binibigay yung may ari ng trucking na yun. Tpos sabi pa ng ate ko noong dec 27 pa sila ata nasimula magdeliver, Hala! Isipin mo na lng ikaw yun, wala kang kapera-pera, dec 27 kayo nagsimula magdeliver tpos ni piso walang binigay para pangkain tpos dec 30 na! waaah!. Halata naman na gutom na gutom na sya eh, kasi nakita ng ate at tatay ko na naghahanap ng pagkain sa tabi-tabi, tpos may nahanap sya na nalaglag na buko sa puno, e di yun ung kinain nya it really shows na gutom na gutom na gutom na sya. Waaaah! Buti na lng naisipan ng tatay ko na bumili ng food para sa kanya tpos binigyan nya ng pera pangkain kasi talagang walang wala talaga halata naman di ba? Waaaaaaaaaah! :( :( Sarap awayin nung may-ari nung trucking na yun! grrr!

The P4 Processor

On a very funny day, my friend, dennis volunteered to connect another cd-rom drive in my computer. I opened the CPU and let dennis do all the work. Unfortunately, we noticed that the heat sink and the fan of my processor is full of thick dust and we decided to clean the sink and the fan. First, I removed the fan and then the sink... "WHOA! tooooot! BAKIT SUMAMA UNG PROCESSOR SA HEAT SINK!!!" The good news is we cleaned the sink and the fan. The bad news is one of the pins of the processor is bent! waaaaaaaah! So I bent it back to its original position! hahaha! Oh my GOD! My P10000 processor!!!! WAAAAAAH!!! What we did is we went back to school and ask for help! Thanks to sir emil! My computer is working! And I am able to post this blog!

When I was still a child I really love playing with toy cars, trains, bridges,etc... and that's why I really love Tranport Tycoon Deluxe!

Prepaid Electricity

FACT YATA DI KO SURE: may prepaid electricity yata sa africa...

Naisip ko lang, sa panahon ngayon, talagang kailangang magtipid, magsipag at kailangang maging masinop tayo sa kung anong meron tayo. Kaya siguro nauso ang mga prepaid cards eh, kasi isang effective na paraan ito para makatipid ang mga pilipino. Hindi tulad ng plan na wala kang limitasyon, kaya mas malaki ang binabayaran mo di ba?

Pero naisip ko since madami na din ang prepaid tulad ng internet, online games, at telepono bakit kaya hindi pa din prepaid ang kuryente para may limitasyon tayo sa pag-gamit ng kuryente? Isipin mo nakabudget ang pag-gamit mo ng aircon panonood ng tv, atbp... e di syempre malamang e di makakatipid ka nga! hehehe...

Phillit Evaluation

I remember taking scific, in our scific class we criticize science fiction movies and analyze the elements of the movies to effectively interpret the whole sense of the movie. Now, in our philit class again with Ms. Diane Siriban, we did the same we criticize the story, we analyze the relationship of events that is happening for everyone to know what is the whole point of the story. Also, because of this class, I am starting to enjoy books because in the past, I always see books as a very boring option for entertainment. I can't understand why, many people enjoy reading books, specially the thick one.I think the current philit class doesn't have weak points because I really learned a lot of things in this subject.

La Visa Loca

Ito na siguro ang pinakamagandang pinoy movie na napanood ko. Tama si Ms. Diane di talaga nakakasawang panoorin ang La Visa Loca, kahit na dalawang beses ko na napanood ang La Visa Loca, enjoy na enjoy pa din ako sa katatawa! Ang akala ko dati eh katulad ito ng mga typical na pinoy movies na pare-pareho ang flow ng story. Usually kasi kapag pinoy movie, madalas mababaw ang tema ng story yung tipong parang wala lng, tulad ng isang pamilya na lahat na lang ata ng problema ay nagkaroon sila, madalas yung style na yung bida sa una ay mahirap biglang yayaman tapos madalas para makakuha ng mga manonood eh, syempre di mawawala ang walang kakupas-kupas na bed scene at iba pa. Pero, sa movie na ito iba, pinakikita sa movie na ito ang ugaling pinoy sa isang malikhain at nakakatawang paraan na pwede nating sabihin na hindi corny at makaka-relate ang bawat pinoy. Madalas kasi kapag tungkol sa pagiging pinoy ang isang movie eh, panay daldal ang narrator hanggang sa makatulog na ang nanonood.

Tungkol nga pala kay jess husson ang movie na La Visa Loca, si jess isang taxi driver na matagal nang naghahangad na magkaroon ng "visa" para makasama nya ang kanyang girlfriend na nasa Florida at maging isang nursing aid. Ngunit, sa unang subon nya sapagkuha ng visa eh nimalas sya. Para sa akin, si jess husson (robin padilla) ay parang ang mga pilipino na nagnanais makapunta sa amerika. Imbis na gumamit ang director ng maraming tao para ipahiwatig ang kanyang mensahe, nag-focus sya kay jess na isang tipikal na pinoy.

Nakakatuwa din isipin, at nakakapagtaka bakit hindi natin naisip ang mga sinabi ng tatay ni jess na si mang sancho sa pagtawag nya sa radyo. Parang ganito and sabi ni mang sancho, bakit kapag english ang salita eh ayos lang banggitin dito sa radyotulad ng "vagina","penis"... atbp pero kapag yung katumbas na salita ng mga salitang iyon sa language natin eh parang masama kapag binabanggit tulad ng "pekpek","tite". (Walang bastos dito!) Grabe tawa ako ng tawa noong sa part ng movie na ito. Perokung iisipin mo, bakit nga ba parang masama at ikinahihiya natin kapag ganun?

Para sa akin ang pinakanakakatawang part talaga ng movie eh yung parteng may Justice! Justice! Grabe! Tawang tawa talaga ako! Maganda ang paraan ng director para ipakita ang pagganti ni Boss Nigel sa magnanakaw! Imbis na yung bugbog sarado na parang napaka-violent eh dinaan na lng sa simple pero makulit at nakakatawang pagsuntok ni boss nigel sa magnanakaw habang sinisigaw ang salitang JUSTICE! Marami ding makukulit na parte sa movie tulad ng advertising ng pop-cola, smart padala, robinson, atbp… May Malabo ding parte eh kaya medyo di nakakatawa yung pagihi ni jess at yung anak ni mara, parang ang tagal naman ng pagihi ni jess! Haha pero ok lng yun! Di naman nakasama yun sa daloy ng story.

Para sa akin maganda at iba iba ang mensahe ng movie na La Visa Loca, isa na sa nais ipahiwatig ng movie na ito eh dapat maging proud tayo na pinoy tayo di tulad ng nanay ni jess na panay ang tawag sa mga pinoy na “ischupid”. Haha! Isa pang mensahe ng movie ay ang pagpapahalaga ng mga Pilipino sa kanilang mga nimamahal dahil sa movie imbis na tumuloy si jess sa pagpunta sa Florida para maging nursing aid, mas pinili nyang huwag iwanan ang kanyang pamilya. Dapat nating ipagmalaki ang ganitong ugali, dahil sa ibang bansa eh basta basta na lang iniiwan ng mga anak ang kanilang mga magulang. Isa pang mensahe ay na dapat maging matiyaga ka para makuha mo ang isang bagay. Sa movie, nagpapako sa krus si jess para lang magkaroon siya ng visa. Kung may tyaga nga naman eh may nilaga.

Para sa akin ang storyang ito ay pwede mo ding itulad sa “The Mats”, sa the mats inaalala pa din ng ama ang mga yumao nyang anak kahit na pinpilit sya ng kanya asawa na wag nang alalahanin pa ang nakaraan parang sa La Visa Loca din yung sinabi ni mang sancho sa radio ulit, na may mga bagay sa mundo na nalalaman mong mahalaga kapag wala na sila. Nakakalungkot isipin, pero totoo di ba?

Masaya, nakakatawa, puro kalokohan pero kahit na ganoong ang La Visa Loca eh maraming magandang aral na napupulot ang mga manonood!

Crime Priests

Smaller and smaller circles is about a killer who kills because of a traumatic event happened when he was still still studying. The story shows gore, thank God the book didn't show pictures of how does the rotting body looks like in the first part of the story and how does the victims looks like after the killer scrapes off the face of the victim, removes the organs and genitals and dumps the victim in the payatas dumpsite. This is the reason why I stopped reading the book for a while because of the way the author descibed how the killer kills his victims. Well I can say that the author is succesful in describing each element of the story.

The weird thing about this story is that there are priests acting like investigators. They are Father saenz and Father Jerome. As discussed in our PHILIT class, the reason why the author used priests as investigators is to make the story "COOL". For me the story is not COOL AT ALL! Why?

First, in this story you can foresee what will happen next after a certain event happened.

Second, for me the story didn't show any sign of struggle and thrill as the Crime Priests and SOCOs try to solve the crime.

Third, it seems that the crime investigators and the priests in the story didn't have a hard time to determine who is the killer unlike other stories that they are having a conflict solving the conflict.

Fourth, the story seems like it is trying hard to be as thrilling as the other suspense novels.

Fifth, it is not normal it is normal in the filipino society to have a serial killer.

Lastly, priests solving a crime is not cool at all!

At first I thought that I will like this story because in the first part of the story the conflict of the story was succesfully defined and I as the reader was able to understand how big the problem is for the investigators unfortunately, as the story continues for me, it seems like the author starts to fail in making the readers feel the intensity of the story. The story is good but the way the author presented it for me is not effective.

Sex + Humor + Drama

Derived from the title of the story, Getting Better is like a step-by-step instructional guide for people who discovered their partner cheating. The author of the story is a filipino and a writer in a magazine, so you would expect that the story feels like you are reading a magazine that features a guide on how you will face life after breaking up with the one you love and start to get better! haha! For me, Getting Better is a combination of drama, comedy, suspense, romance and a bit of SEX to spice things up in the story. Though, it shows the western and different side of young adult filipinos, everyone in the class can easily understand and relate to what is happening in the story. Maybe, the PHILIT class enjoys stories that has SEX in it, well it's just my opinion. nyehaaha!

The story is about a woman named karen, the girlfriend of miko that will cheat later on. I think the story took place in an urban area like makati, or manila because of the atmosphere the story suggests. The characters acts like they aren't filipinos at all because most
of the time filipinos are described as conservative and simple persons. The attitude of the characters in the story is the reason why I think the author is quite influenced by western countries. Maybe it is also possible that the author is watching too much sex and violence
that's why the story shows sexual activity between a man and woman and why the story feels like it is very normal in the society to say things about *toot*, *toot* and *toot*.

I like this story, not because of sex, but because of how the author was able to establish a different way of telling a story about a person's recovery after discovering that his partner is cheating on him/her. Also, the story has a bit humor in it to balance things and prevent the story to become serious and boring. The author for me used "sex + humor + drama" as an effective style to keep the readers interested.

The Document

One of the shortest story we read in our PHILIT class is the document. This story is unique! For me... Why? Because the author uses technology like the computer as a way to express his message to his readers. One more reason why this story is so unique is because of it's setting. Everything in the story happened in front of the guy's computer. Most of the time, when I read stories, each event and scenes happens in different places. The story was written in the year 1995 wherein people are still using weird computers because people in that time are not yet interested in computers so they tend to stick to what they still have.

The document is about a guy using his computer and the .doc files saved by a girl who often uses the guy's computer whenever she wishes to use it without asking permission directly to the guy. While the guy is browsing the computer the guy finds the filename of the .doc files, strange that's why the guy started to think that the girl likes him because the filename of the .doc files suggest.

Maybe, the point of the author is that we immediately put meaning about what we see without being able to prove it first. Just like the guy in the story, the guy started to assume that the girl likes him without even making a move to prove what is the true meaning of the strange filenames of .doc files of the girl.
